bad attempt at ranting

I have just read a number of blogs by many teachers and I realised there is a common factor out there in teacher land.

Ranting.

I felt like have a decent go but I haven't really got the energy.

Here is my feeble attempt. I went to bed around 2am and woke up this morning about 7.30 with the cat looking intently in my face and purring REALLY LOUDLY.

Back off!!!!!

I'd arranged to meet a kidlet at work at 9.30 am but SHE. DIDN'T. F*+/?NG. SHOW.

Now I am going to correct some work and I hope they put me in a nice mood.........

On an aside - I made some really yummy pasties. Yumm!

4.28pm: Just off the phone to Frogdancer in response to her comment. I woke up from a 2 hour sleep to receive the news that the kid had turned up at 2pm - 4 1/2 hours after the agreed meeting time! How nuts is that? Frogdancer is right she is an optimist!

Your kid DID show up...

at 2pm.

(I was having a coffee with P and your kid showed up on the off-chance that you might still be at school. On a Sunday... Optimist.)

I think perhaps it isn't just teachers; blogs are good for ranting in general.

Right now, I have nothing to rant about regarding my own students, but I have had that same experience of making an appointment with a student only to have him/her not show up. I started only making appointments during times that are convenient for me. Otherwise, I'm bound to be disappointed.

For what teacher put up with, I say they have every right to rant. Showing up that late and expecting you to be there???

I am always amazed at things like this. I have found that the more you give, the more they expect. I know that sounds a little jaded doesn't it? It hasn't stopped me from giving my all at all, but it has helped me decide to not feel so let down when something does go wrong or people let me down.
