First week back at work....

It has been 5 days since I last posted (sounds like the beginning of a confession!). I have been so tired with the start of work it is not funny.

I have found myself sharing the instrumental music coordination position. This is a huge job, and I have to do this on the days when the other guy doing th job is not there! I also really dont know what I am doing at the moment. I will have a good idea very soon. I am learning the program we use very quickly. I enrolled about 20 students into the music program last night. (From a list of 80 who are all doing year 10 or 11 music.) I had to make sure the lists for choir, orchestra and Symphonic Wind were accurate for the rehearsals we start in the next fortnight.

I also learnt how to allocate a music locker - which seems like a small thing but it is something that we need to keep tabs on so that we know who is where etc.

In amongst all of this I taught a few classes, mainly my Year 11 styles and performance classes, met lots of children, spent some time catching up with other teachers about there holidays (general thought is that the holidays were not long enough) and I have also assessed my students holiday homework.

At the same time I am trying to get my body back into the right sleeping patterns. There are holiday sleeping patterns and work ones. The holiday ones are go to sleep whenever you want to and get up whenever you wake up and can be bothered. Now my pattern has to change to being in bed before 11pm and up at 6ish.

I have almost failed at changing the pattern. Go to bed before 11 but dont sleep until 12.30 or 1. This is very frustrating. I am still getting up at the same time and now I am exhausted.

I was meant to go out and play with other single people my age last night but I was way too tired. I had pizza with froglady and her tadpoles. (Yes I know froggie that I will have to learn how to link!) The tadpoles did entertain me with guitars a plenty. Froglady had a friend turn up as well and I havent laughed like that all week. Thanks for that people!

I havent been to my exercise class this week either - too tired. I will get there on Monday night - it is now scheduled in the diary, the calender and implanted in my brain! I need to run around and have a different way of tiring myself out.

Once I get into the routine it will be ok. Its just getting there that is the issue.

Glad you had a good time. (Have you read Joke's comment on my 'Steamed' post? You'd love it.)
